May Pabaon Ka Ba Diyan?: A Talk on Corruption in the Armed Forces of the Philippines

Last February 11, 2011, the Center for Social Action (CSA) in partnership with the Lasallian Justice and Peace Commission (LJPC), Pagbabago! People’s Movement for Change, DLS-CSB Student Council and DLS-CSB NSTP organized “May Pabaon Ka Ba Diyan?: A Talk on Corruption in the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The activity aims to provide a venue to deepen understanding on the issue of corruption in the military and heighten active citizenship against corruption and good governance.

Mandaluyong Celebration with PWD

As Mandaluyong celebrates 66th year of freedom from the Japanese Imperial Forces and the 17th year of being declared a city; Jay Sunico and Lovella Catalan, both officers of the Philippine Sports Federation for the Deaf visited Mayor Abalos of Mandaluyong.

to Mayor Abalos.

They presented the mayor with a Thank you plaque as he supported the
Deaf Bowling Championship last November 30 to December 7, 2010

Mandaluyong had a parade during the celebration of their cityhood anniversary.

Silent Steps: Breaking The Silence

Silent Steps broke new grounds as we celebrate the Arts month. They performed with the Saint Benilde Romancon Dance Company at the CSB Theater and at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Truly our Deaf Ambassadors!

Lovella Catalan: Ulirang Mandaleno

Congratulations to Lovella Catalan for being an ULIRANG MANDALENO. The award was given last Feb 8, 2011 on the occasion of the 66th Founding Anniversary of Mandaluyong. She is the first Deaf and PWD to get the award. Go Deafies!

SDEAS wins 1st runner up in the 25th Rotaract Sportsfest

For the past 6 years DLS-CSB has been taking part in the Rotaract Sportsfest, the only Deaf group to compete with other Hearing schools. Taking the lead is coach Lovella Catallan with volunteer interpreters.

This year, SDEAS bags the 1st runner up in the Rotaract Sports fest. Go Deafies!

Opening ceremonies. Deafies agree to work for the objectives of the games: build friendships and practice good sportsmanship.

Various high schools (Interact) and colleges (Rotact) participated.

Dubbed as the new generation sportsfest, this year it was held in Ultra. In the past years it was held in the Rizal Coliseum.

The list of games included relays, fun games and Filipino games.
