Event: The W.I.R.E.D. Project and Seminar on Online Freelancing

The W.I.R.E.D Project

Benilde, in partnership with AKAP-Pinoy Inc., hosted the W.I.R.E.D. Project, a one-day seminar on online freelancing for Persons with Disabilities, last October 22, 2013 at the Amphitheater, SDA Campus. The project keeps up with the digital times by utilizing e-learning to train PWDs to become skilled virtual assistants and online freelancers. By employing the work-from-home model as a platform for providing livelihood opportunities to PWDs, barriers to employment such as mobility and work accessibility are directly addressed.

Resource speakers for the training include Mr. Manuel Agcaoili, President of NOVA Foundation; Ms. Ma. Vivian Estacio and Mr. Erick Ramos , Members of the W.I.R.E.D. Project; Ms. Jacquelyn V. Lucero, Bid Ocean Asia;
Mr. Ryan Q. Allegado, IT Manager for Abled Online, Genashtim Innovative Learning, Pte; and
Ms. Lishiel P. Aquino, Proprietor, The Article Master.
